Metallized PET Film for Sheet Mask Sachets
Oct 15,2026 | FOSHAN CAILONG METALLIC PACKAGING MATERIAL CO.,LTD
Metallized PET Film can be screened for sheet-mask sachets when a converter needs a deposited-metal barrier layer that remains well bonded in a wet-product laminate. The sachet must also retain the intended serum condition and open cleanly around a folded mask. Metal adhesion alone does not prove compatibility with the cosmetic formulation.
Cailong lists VPET-GF as a high-adhesion metallized PET family with barrier functionality. Its Metallized Film Supplier offering provides a starting material for laminate trials. A particular mask serum, adhesive and contact layer still require qualification; no finished cosmetic pack, preservation result or regulatory approval is assumed from the film page.
Separate serum loss from liquid redistribution
Begin with the actual complaint. A mask may appear unevenly wet because liquid distribution within the folded product has changed, because the substrate absorbs differently or because the pack has lost material. These observations should not all be called a barrier failure. The cosmetic product team needs to define the condition that is unacceptable.
Compare retained sachets with their initial fill and product records using the brand's assessment method. Note how the mask is folded and placed inside. A pouch containing serum without the mask does not reproduce the full product system. The relevant comparison includes the actual nonwoven or other mask substrate and its normal variation.
If a leak is visible, identify its path before requesting a stronger barrier web. A channel at a seal, a damaged corner and transmission through an intact laminate are different mechanisms. Keep specimens showing where the liquid first appears. This makes the next material or process trial more specific than a general request for better shelf life.
Where high-adhesion Metallized PET Film helps the review
The GF product family is selected for discussion where the deposited-metal interface deserves attention during conversion and use. The aluminum layer should not be treated as an independent sheet of foil. Its bond to the PET substrate is one interface within a larger laminate containing adhesives and the product-contact material.
A possible structure for evaluation is printed PET / VPET-GF / suitable PE sealant. Printed PET provides the outside graphics, GF supplies the proposed metallized barrier, and PE must be selected for the serum-facing and closing role. Confirm every interface with the converter. This construction is not represented as a Cailong-approved sheet-mask package.
If the current sachet contains foil, compare the entire structures. Metallized PET may be considered for a different converting or flexibility requirement, but it is not automatically equivalent under folding or light-protection demands. Establish the reason for changing before assigning a replacement claim to the candidate material.
Wet-product contact needs formulation information
Give the inner-layer and adhesive suppliers the serum's relevant compatibility requirements. Do not assume that an approved pack for another cosmetic product can be reused unchanged. The selected ingredients, intended contact conditions and processing route belong in the application brief. A strong metal-to-PET bond does not approve every neighboring material.
Clarify which surface actually contacts the serum. In the proposed laminate, the metal layer is not being specified as the direct product-contact surface. The converter should maintain the intended orientation through printing and lamination. A material drawing is more useful than an informal description of silver film facing inward.
During evaluation, inspect laminate changes as well as visible leakage. Separation may occur at an adhesive interface without obvious damage to the outside. Record the separation plane if a retained sachet changes condition. This helps distinguish an adhesive or contact-compatibility issue from an unsuitable deposited-metal interface.
The folded mask affects filling and closure
Record the folding pattern, stack thickness and placement inside the sachet. A mask placed too near the mouth can interfere with the closing region or carry liquid upward. Assess the actual loading sequence rather than asking the sealant to compensate for an undefined product position.
Observe how serum is introduced relative to the folded mask. The condition at the closing jaws can differ according to that sequence. Collect representative sachets during normal production and after restarts. An empty-film seal trial is useful for screening, but it does not resolve product contamination under the production closure.
Review edge and corner geometry when the filled sachets are stacked into their secondary packaging. A small rigid fold in the contents or an unfavorable case fit can create localized contact. Keep secondary-pack changes separate from film changes so that the cause of a new mark or leak can be traced.
Define protection and opening as separate outcomes
Ask for the proposed GF grade's OTR and WVTR with temperature, humidity and specimen type identified. The page describes a family, so the data must match the actual supplied grade. Where wet storage or conversion is part of the requirement, agree what retained-laminate or finished-pack evidence the brand needs.
Do not calculate serum retention or a cosmetic shelf-life extension from a single film value. The complete product contains the mask, serum, contact layer and closure, each with its own role. The product owner must define the required condition at the end of the agreed assessment.
Opening also needs a realistic check. A tear feature should provide access to the folded mask without leaving an inconvenient opening or uncontrolled fragments. Compare the intended pull direction with the actual notch and laminate. Strong bonding and convenient tearing are different requirements that the converter must balance.
For a VPET-GF sachet inquiry, provide Cailong with the current laminate, formulation-contact requirements, mask fold, filling sequence and observed failure location. Add the brand's serum-retention and opening criteria. This allows the film proposal to address a defined wet cosmetic sachet rather than presenting high adhesion as a complete packaging solution.
