Metallized PET Film: Peel Test Comparison

Metallized PET Film adhesion results are not interchangeable with finished-laminate peel results. Two numbers may describe different interfaces even when both are reported per strip width.

Cailong, a Metallized Film Supplier, lists VPET-GF as a high-aluminum-adhesion grade. Its coating anchorage and a converter's adhesive bond answer separate questions.

Name the interface being separated

Inspect both peeled faces. Record metal transfer, adhesive residue and film tearing with the force trace. A high reading caused by film deformation does not directly measure aluminum anchorage.

Use comparable specimens

Agree on strip width, peel geometry, test speed, conditioning and adhesive cure age. Cut specimens in the same direction. Report the method and failure mode together, not just an average force.

For a VPET-GF comparison, provide Cailong with peeled specimens, adhesive details and the test protocol. Establish separate acceptance criteria for the metal-to-PET interface and the laminate bond.
