Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) Film – High-Performance Specialty Polymer Film
CaiLong / 达孚 PEEK Film is a high-performance, semi-crystalline specialty engineering plastic film made from polyetheretherketone (PEEK) resin and processed via precision melt extrusion/casting and controlled orientation. It is positioned for customers who need "more than PET/PI/PC" – a film that survives sustained high temperature, aggressive chemicals and high-load conditions while staying thin, formable and electrically insulating.
Core strengths (why engineers specify PEEK film)
-
Exceptional continuous-service temperature capability: rated around 250–260°C class long-term (short-term peaks higher), with melting point around 343°C, so it remains stable where many films soften or shrink.
-
Outstanding chemical and hydrolysis resistance: performs in aggressive media and high-humidity/hot-water environments far better than common polyester films; in many conditions only concentrated sulfuric acid is a true solvent threat.
-
Excellent electrical insulation & dielectric stability: high dielectric strength and volume resistivity, suitable for high-temperature insulation systems (motors/transformers, flexible circuits, slot liners, coverlay/spacer layers).
-
Inherent flame resistance / low smoke & low toxicity: generally UL 94 V-0 level behavior without added halogens, important for aerospace, rail and electronics.
-
Very low moisture absorption (~0.04% level) and good wear/self-lubricating traits, helping dimensional and surface stability in moving or heated assemblies.
-
Radiation/UV resistance: suitable for components exposed to sterilisation or harsh-field environments, where polymer breakdown is a concern.
What we supply (format & customization)
-
Thickness range typically from very thin (single-digit–tens of microns) up to heavier gauges for gaskets/spacers (configurations depend on grade).
-
Width/roll form and surface options: natural/amber tint, matte or polished finish, and treatments/coatings (release, primer, conductive path, etc.) discussed case-by-case.
-
Convertibility: compatible with slitting, die-cutting, punching, laminating and heat/pressure shaping in many designs; always confirm with your adhesive/process before scaling.
Typical applications (the ones buyers actually search for)
-
Electronics & electrical insulation: high-temp slot liners, phase insulation, transformer/coil insulation, flexible printed circuit support/spacer, coverlay/overlay, high-tread-life tapes.
-
Acoustic & micro-mechanisms: micro-speaker/audio diaphragm film where high modulus and temperature stability reduce distortion.
-
Labels & marking in heat: high-temp label face/overlay, barcode-capable overlays in ovens, engines or process equipment.
-
Sensors & instruments: pressure-sensor diaphragms, thin dielectric membranes, measurement-system insulation.
-
Aerospace / rail / industrial: lightweight insulating shims, heat/chemical-exposure barriers, cable/component protection where weight matters and environment is harsh.
Note: final suitability must be verified under your actual voltage, temperature, chemical and sterilisation cycle. We can support with grade selection, width/slit, roll length and sample for trial.
